Online Craps Strategy |
Much like online Roulette, online Craps is a game where players can win a lot of money in a relatively short period of time.
In terms of strategy, probably one of the most important things to remember is
to try to only place bets that give the online casino or 'house' the smallest
'edge' or advantage. Also, online Craps is not a casino gambling game for the
weak of heart. You must be prepared to play 'aggressively' but not recklessly.
While there are many different online Craps strategies, the two most common and
basic are 'Betting with the Shooter' or 'Betting against the Shooter'.
Betting with the Shooter - This means that you are in effect supporting
the dice throws of the Shooter. A good idea is to begin with a $10 bet on the
Pass Line. If you lose, place another $10 bet. If you get a 7 or 11, remove your
winnings but leave your original bet behind.
As soon as the Point has been set, take the full double odds on your bet
(assuming the Craps game you are playing allows Double Odds). Let's assume the
Point has been set at either 4, 5, 9 or 10, it be a good idea to put another $20
behind your existing $10 Pass Line Bet. Bear in mind that 4 or 10 odds pay 2:1
($40) and 5 or 9 odds pay 3:2 ($30).
If the Point is 6 or 8, don't be afraid to place another $25 behind your Pass
Line Bet. While this is clearly more than double odds on a point of 6 or 8, the
majority of online casinos let you to take odds on these numbers in $5
increments.
Next, place a $10 bet on the Come. The same rules as used above apply in terms
of taking the full double odds as soon as your Come point has been set. Follow
this bet with another $10 Come bet with full double odds. So now you should have
three separate numbers, two Come bets and one on the Pass Line bet.
Should you find that you're in the center of a 'Hot Roll' take full advantage by
placing another Come bet. In time you can double your original bet by placing a
$20 bet on the Come instead of a $10 bet. (Bear in mind that before you do this,
you should be up by at least $100 based on this particular example).
Of course you'll eventually 7-Out and when that happens simply begin your
betting process and strategy over again using your original amounts.
Betting against the Shooter - This means that you are in effect betting against
the dice throws of the Shooter. It is interesting to note that the odds of
betting with the Shooter as opposed to against the Shooter are pretty much the
same.
Begin by placing a $10 bet on the Don't Pass Line. Should you win (with a
Craps), leave behind your original $10 and pocket your winnings. If you lose
(assuming a 7 or 11 comes up), place another $10 on the Don't Pass Line. As soon
as the Point has been set, take the full double odds on your bet. Be aware,
however, that by 'laying' odds you are in effect putting down more than you can
win.
So, if the Point is 4 or 10, the lay odds would be $40 for a potential payoff of
$20 (odds of 2:1), For the numbers 5 or 9, the lay odds would be $30 for a
potential payoff of $20 (odds of 3:2) and for 6 or 8, the lay odds would be $24
for a potential payoff of $20 (odds of 6:5).
Next, place another $10 bet on the Don't Come. The same rules as used above
apply in terms of laying the full double odds as soon as your Don't Come point
has been set. Follow this bet with another $10 Don't Come bet with full double
odds. So now you should have three separate numbers, two Don't Come bets and one
on the Don't Pass Line bet.
Should you find that you're in the center of a 'Cold Roll' take full advantage
by placing another Don't Come bet. In time you can double your original two bet
by placing a $20 bet on the Don't Come instead of a $10 bet. (Bear in mind that
before you do this, you should be up by at least $100 based on this particular
example).
