The gambling game of Roulette has been around since the 17th Century, the name 'Roulette' meaning 'small wheel' in French. The excitement that surrounds
Roulette table in a casino has been brilliantly captured in online casinos in
the form of online Roulette.
The game involves a numbered table, a spinning wheel containing the corresponding numbers, a little white ball that is released into the wheel and a dealer or croupier that controls the wheel and betting etc.
In online Roulette there are two main typed of bets - 'inside' bets and
'outside' bets. Inside bets are bet placed on the actual numbers (0 to 36) on
the table, while outside bets are placed on the Red or Black, Odds or Evens etc
squares outside of the table's numbered area.
Each round of roulette starts when the croupier says ' place your bets' and all
the Roulette players place as many of their chips as they want on the table, on
inside or outside bets.
When all bets have been placed, the croupier will
announce 'no more bets' and he will spin the roulette wheel and release the
little ball.
Unaided, the ball will come to rest in a numbered slot (either red, black or
green) and if a players chips correspond with the number or color, he or she
will be paid out according to the type of bet they placed on the table.
The betting is important in online Roulette and the following bets and payouts
are applicable:
Inside Bets
Single Number - Pays 35:1 where your chips straddle one number.
Split Number - Pays 17:1where your chips straddle two numbers.
Street Bet - Pays 11:1 where your chips straddle a row of three numbers.
(Chips are placed on the edge of the row).
Corner Bet - Pays 8:1 where your chips straddle four numbers.
Special Line Bet - Pays 6:1 where your chips straddle the numbers 0, 001,2
and 3.
Line Bet - Pays 5:1 where your chips straddle two rows of three numbers.
(Chips are placed on the edge between two rows).
Outside Bets
Dozens - Pays 2:1 where your chips are placed either on the first dozen numbers
(1 - 12), second dozen numbers (13 - 24) or third dozen numbers (25 - 36).
Columns - Pays 2:1 where your chips are placed either on the first, second or
third columns.
Red or Black - Pays 1:1.
Odds or Evens - Pays 1:1.
1 to 18 - Pays 1:1.
19 to 36 - Pays 1:1.
