The first time I played Pai Gow Poker online I was more than a little skeptical. But you have to bear in mind that in those days my casino games of choice were blackjack and roulette and everything else paled in comparison. But spurred on by my sense of curiosity, one evening I clicked on Pai Gow Poker at my favorite online casino. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that not only was this not such a bad game, but that I actually really enjoyed playing it - and still do to this day. What is great about Pai Gow Poker is that it's easy to grasp and play, and is a very fast-moving game where every hand has two winning possibilities. The way every hand of Pai Gow Poker begins is that you must place your chosen bet. Next, click the 'deal' button and you'll be dealt 7 cards face-up while the dealer is dealt 7 cards face-down. The objective of Pai Gow Poker is to beat the dealer by splitting your cards to make not one but two winning hands. The first hand is called the 'Highest' and the second is called, you guessed it, the '2nd Highest'. Your Highest hand must always contain five cards while your 2nd Highest hand must always contains two cards. Once you've split your hand accordingly and hit the done button, the dealer will reveal his Highest and 2nd Highest hand. If both of the dealer's hands are higher than yours, you lose your bet. If one of your hands is higher and the other is lower than the dealer's, the hand results in a 'push' or a tie and your original bet is returned to you. But if both your hands are higher than the dealer's, you'll be paid out at 1:1, minus a small casino commission. In short, you'll almost double your money every time you win, which can soon add up to some hefty winnings, believe me. In fact, I remember one notable Pai Gow Poker session from not too long ago where I increased my original playing funds by over 1000 percent. I had a big smile on my face that day I can tell you. Oh and I almost forgot to mention that to make Pai Gow Poker even more exciting, the games uses Jokers as wild cards. This means that the Joker can substitute for any other card which is obviously designed to help you make more winning combinations. And this is just one more reason why Pai Gow Poker has become a firm favorite of mine.
