If you're looking for a little Asian action, the look no further than Sic
Bo, a novel Chinese land and now online casino dice-based game that is loads
of fun to play, and is extremely lucrative. Just ask me. Ever since a friend of
mine in college introduced me to Sic Bo, I have been a fan ever since and
continue to shout its praises from the pagoda tops. And here's why - any game
whose name translated means 'dice pair', but is actually played with three dice,
has to be a sign of good things. Well, it was for me and continues to be as I
still play and win on Sic Bo regularly. If you've never played Sic Bo before and
you look at the table it's played on, you may be tempted to quit before you
start. Don't. It mightlook complicated, but it's really not when you know how.
Sic Bo is similar to roulette in that the table contains many number
combinations that you can bet on. Only, instead of using a numbered spinning
wheel and a little white ball, Sic Bo relies on three standard 6-sided dice.
Even easier to grasp, is the fact that if the thrown dice match any of the dice
combinations on the table that you have been stute enough to bet on, you'll be
paid out according to their respective payouts. If the dice don't match your
bets, you'll lose your bet and a new round starts. See, what could be easier?
Just goes to show why you should never judge a book by its cover. And like
roulette, you can place as many bets on Sic Bo as you want, up to the table
limit, of course.
There are many types of bets in Sic Bo, one of the most common being the
Small/Big Bet. A Small Bet wins if the total sum of the three dice is 4 to 10
and a Big Bet wins if the total of the dice is 11 to 17 - pays 1:1. Note that
Small/Big Bets do not win if all three dice show the same number. With a Number
Bet you're hoping a specific number (one, two, three, four, five or six) comes
up as many times as possible. One dice pays 1:1, two dice 2:1 and three dice
3:1. With a Pair Bet, Small/Big Bet you can wager on any of the 15 possible two
dice combinations, like 1 and 2; 4 and 6 or 3 and 5 etc - pays 5:1. A Total Bet
allows you to bet on the sum of all three dice from 4 to 17. (For some reason, 4
and 8 are excluded). The payouts differ depending on the sum. For instance, a
total of 4 pays 60:1 while a total of 11 pays 6:1.
With a Double Bet you can bet on a specific pair like two 4's or two 6's etc -
pays out 10:1. So it follows that a Triple Bet is the same as a Double Bet but
all three dice must show the same number. This is my favorite bet, because
nothing beats the sense of satisfaction you get when you see your chosen triple
come up - in my case triple 6 - and watch your winnings pile up as you're paid
out a whopping 180:1. And finally, Sic Bo boasts an Any Triple bet, where if any
triple is thrown, you stand to be paid out 30:1. This is a game that will become
a firm favorite of yours, mark my words.
