Following a lengthy review of its audit and on site operations, the Cereus
Network has been accredited with the coveted eCOGRA accreditation.
The poker network, which incorporates Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker
achieved full compliance with the industry watchdog group, eCOGRA's set of best
practice requirements, known as eGAP (Generally Accepted Practices).
The compliance manager for the independent group, Sean Roberts said: "Cereus
management's commitment to compliance, specifically player safety, facilitated
an efficient review and certification process."
"The active measures taken, in light of events that impacted players, coupled
with an impressive range of additional mitigating controls that have since been
implemented, have contributed to the Cereus online poker network's software
reaching the standards we require for software accreditation," he said.
The news was met with satisfaction by Tokwiro Enterprises, the group that
owns both poker sites that form part of the Cereus Network.
"Doing everything possible to reassure the poker community that our operation
and software are completely safe and secure is a priority to us," said the CEO
of Tokwiro Enterprises, Paul Leggett. "This is why we decided to work with
eCOGRA and apply for the Certified Software accreditation seal. Their inspection
team was extraordinarily thorough, looking at a wide range of elements in our
software. We are proud that our product passed the tough requirements to achieve
this important accreditation."
Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker were wracked by cheating scandals in the past
few years, apparently triggered by former owners of the site. Since then,
Tokwiro has been putting much effort into changing the direction of the poker
sites and investing much on promotion and marketing.
