SportingBet will see its logo appear on the back of the Brisbane
Broncos rugby team jersey, making it the first wagering group to sign a
sponsorship deal with an Australian National Rugby League team.
The deal has been signed for one year and will cover the 2010 season which
kicks off on the 12th of next month.
The Brisbane Broncos will meet the North Queensland Cowboys next month
wearing their new kit.
This is not the first deal that SportingBet has signed with the Broncos. Last
season the online sportsbetting and gaming operator benefited from a signage
deal with the team.
A decision to upgrade the relationship to a full sponsorship was warmly
welcomed by the Chief Executive Officer of the
Brisbane Broncos, Bruno Callen.
"I am very pleased that SportingBet has given our club a ringing endorsement
by upgrading last year's signage deal to a fully fledged jersey sponsorship,"
said Callen.
"It now joins a historically elite and unique family of jersey sponsors with
the Broncos."
"SportingBet is a strong and popular sporting brand in Australia, much like
the Brisbane Broncos are, and because of this I am certain the two entities will
form a wonderful partnership," he continued.
The CEO of SportingBet Australia, Michael Sullivan said: "The Broncos are a
tremendous organization both on and off the field and that is why we decided to
increase our involvement with them in 2010."
"We are also very excited to be the first wagering company to be on an NRL
jersey," he added. "SportingBet has contributed heavily to the sports we bet on
and this is another great opportunity for us to support rugby league."
