The annual Tri Nation's Rugby Championship organised by SANZAR (South Africa, New Zealand and Australian Rugby) is now on and rugby spread betting is attentive.

Despite the fact that the UK is not invited to this championship, rugby betting is popular for the event.

Two matches have already been played. On July 10th, New Zealand beat South Africa 32-12 in their game in Auckland and on July 17th, New Zealand once again beat South Africa 31-17 in Wellington.

New Zealand has won the tournament on nine occasions since its inception in 1996.

The South African coach, Peter de Villiers, was not impressed by the statistics and claimed that referees from the Northern Hemisphere made his team lose. He claimed that northern arbitration misinterprets regulations and went so far as to say that cheating would be a solution for the misunderstanding.

De Villiers was quoted: "We've played now six [Tests this year] and in six games we've had six different types of plays on the ground. We've got the same skills as last year when we won the Tri Nations. We're used to playing with the new interpretations in the Super 14 and now in the six games we've played the law was a bit different on the ground."

He continued: "Because I don't like to prepare guys to cheat and it seems to me that's the only way going forward if you want to be on top of those kind of things and that's 70 per cent of your game".

The issue surrounds a new interpretation of a rule when playing a ball that is on the ground. The differences in understanding of the rule may affect rugby betting.

The are seven more games scheduled to take place with the last one taking place on September 11 in Sydney.
