Heathridge Couple Win $20m Oz Lotto Jackpot

A lucky couple from the suburb of Heathridge in Perth, Australia went online to check the last number of this week's Oz Lotto draw, only to discover they were the sole winners of a $20 million jackpot.

The couple - who have chosen to remain anonymous - wrote down the first six numbers down while watching the draw live on TV, but were so busy celebrating those numbers that they missed the seventh number.

The couple could not believe their luck at being the sole winners of such a huge Oz Lotto jackpot. "I lost count of how many times I kept checking it. I just couldn't believe my ticket was the big winner," said the woman.

When asked what they would do with their new-found wealth, the couple said they would start by paying off their children's mortgages and paying for a holiday to their grandchildren. They are looking forward to the type of comfortable and pleasant retirement that the lottery windfall will afford them.

"You wouldn't make this sort of money in a life time. We are over the moon. However, I'll go home and still do my washing and mow the law," the woman said.

The winning numbers were 3, 6, 1, 18, 34, 21 and 15 with the supplementaries 12 and 28.

Biggest Oz Lotto Win in WA This Year

The winning SlikPik ticket was bought from Heathridge news agency. It is the biggest Oz Lotto win in Western Australia this year, and the fourth largest in Western Australia history. Including the latest win, this year there have been 69 Division 1 Oz Lotto wins in Western Australia.

Oz Lotto is drawn every week on a Tuesday night at 8:30pm AEST. The entries close on the day of the draw at 6:30pm AEST.
