Beginner's Luck for X Lotto Draw Player

With just a day left to purchase your tickets for tomorrow's (Saturday, January 28th) X Lotto draw, consider the tale of a woman from Adelaide who gives a whole new meaning to the concept of 'beginner's luck'.

The woman received a lottery ticket from her friend for her birthday and it was the very first time she had played the lottery. To her delight, she discovered she'd matched all six winning numbers in last Saturday's Lotto X Draw.

The draw resulted in a $695,978 Division One prize - the first time she had ever played the lotto!

After matching her numbers, the extremely lucky X Lotto draw winner said that she had a sleepless night before turning up at the SA Lotteries Head Office the following morning to claim her prize.

"I don't think I slept a wink last night," she said. "People usually buy tickets before they win the lottery, so I truly can't believe that I have won."

The woman, who is a grandmother, said that part of her prize will be spent pampering her family, while her friend who bought her the winning ticket will also be spoiled rotten. Other things on her list include a holiday cruise and a hefty donation to her favourite charity.

The winner shared last week's $4.1 million, Division One prize with a total of five interstate players, while a total of $15,000,000 was given away in the draw.

The draw for tomorrow's X Lotto draw closes at 7 pm on Saturday, so there is still loads of time to get your hands on a ticket that could end up changing your life forever.

The X Lotto is a game of chance where six numbers and two supplementary numbers are drawn from a barrel of 45. The draw takes place on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays.

A multi-million dollar Division One prize is offered every Saturday, which will roll over to the following Saturday if it is not won. A $1 million Division One prize pool is up-for-grabs every Monday and Wednesday, which rolls over to the following Monday and Wednesday draws if it is not won.

To win a Division One prize, players need to match all six winning numbers, while a Division Two prize can be won if five winning numbers plus one supplementary number are matched.

Throughout the year, X Lotto Megadraws and Superdraws are held, with the next one scheduled for February 11th, 2012, with a $20 million Division One prize pool up for grabs.
