Microgaming USA Casinos

In 2006, when the UIGEA bill was slipped through in the dead of night,
Microgaming decided to withdraw from the USA and at this time no new players
were able to join a Microgaming casino, although those with existing accounts
were still able to play. Although the legality of online gambling in the US is
completely confusing, the software provider decided that it would err on the
side of caution and not allow new signups at any of its licensed casinos.
Since November 2008, Microgaming closed those existing American player
accounts, offering players the option of having their accounts "moved" to a "new
casino" owned by the same operator in each instance, but on a software platform
that while it resembles Microgaming, is supposed to be owned by another company.
So at least Microgaming made arrangements to allow their customers to continue
playing, although on a much inferior platform (the "new" casinos using this
software package offer no progressive jackpots and far fewer games in their
portfolio).
Some people have tied to get past the restrictions using proxy software and
other tricks but the bottom line is that they will not get paid any winnings so
there is little point in trying to open a new Microgaming account.
In the
interim we suggest you play at one of the casinos listed below. They all welcome
US real money players.
